Edmund Wilson wrote this letter upon publishing F. Scott's Fitzgerald's CRACK-UP
THERE IS NO QUESTION...NOR IS THERE ANY DEBATE...ANYONE INTERESTED IN BECOMING A WRITER...
YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK.
The mountain top was his
And hers
All others could hear
Their every breath
Their morning death
After falling through the night
All others could see
With the same eye
Scott & Zelda
Falling through the sky...
Why
Mount Olympus has no parachute
Only gravity
Success Fated to get the best
Of them
Through the looking glass
On the mountain top
Scott cracked up
Dropping & crashing
Also did Zelda
Plunging With more gravity
than Imelda
Had shoes
Jesus Christ almost had
As many followers
There is no greater weight
Than madness
