The Rhinoceros-Man Quandary
A man can look at a rhinoceros and say There is a creature that looks as if it didn’t exist. But a rhinoceros will look at a man and barely take notice. Marcel DuTramp
Mr. DuTramp is obviously familiar with Gilbert K. Chesterton, who once said: It is one thing to describe an interview with a gorgon or a griffin, a creature who does not exist. It is another thing to discover that the rhinoceros does exist and then take pleasure in the fact that he looks as if he didn’t.

Thank you for the Chesterton quote.
I will ask Marcel DuTramp about it the next time I see him.
